GOTLAND DEFENCE MUSEUM
Welcome to the Gotland defence museum with two locations in Tingstäde, about 24km north of Visby on Gotland. The Gotland defence museum will give you a broad overview of the military history for the Army, Air Force and Navy on the island, from ancient to modern times.
The Army division of the museum has a wide variety of military vehicles including battle tanks, armored personal carriers and motorcycles as well as anti-air defense systems and artillery pieces. The main building has a great collection of military items from previous regiments on Gotland and a large number of exhibits spanning from the 19th century with the Russian occupation to World War I and II, the Cold War and the decommissioning on the island in the early 21st century. Here you can also find a cafe, a playground and a gift shop.
